Why was my prompt or result refused?

Prompts are checked before a run is charged, and results and uploads can be checked too. Swimwear and lingerie on adults are fine; nudity, sexual content with a minor or a real person, gore, hate and deceptive fakes are not. A refused prompt costs nothing; a refused result keeps its charge.

Before a run is charged, its prompt goes through our content check. Pictures and clips can also be looked at before they're shown, and uploads before they're kept. When something breaks one of our rules, a short message says which rule. A prompt refused before the run costs nothing; a run refused after it was charged keeps its charge.

What's allowed

  • Adults in swimwear, lingerie, underwear or fashion, including ads for those products, and glamour and beauty shots.
  • Romance: couples, kissing, a bedroom scene with nothing sexual happening.
  • Action, fights without gore, horror, war and crime stories, and weapons as they appear in a film or a game.
  • Public figures mentioned neutrally, such as a concert photo, and a parody that is clearly a parody.
  • Children in ordinary scenes: families, school, sport, a day at the beach.
  • Mild innuendo in lyrics or ad copy.
  • Mock-ups of your own product pages, ads and packaging, and props or documents in a story with made-up names.

Words in a negative prompt, the list of what to leave out, are never held against you.

What's not allowed

  • Anything sexual, suggestive or undressed involving a child, or someone who looks young.
  • Nudity and sexual acts, for anyone, fictional adults included.
  • A real person shown in a sexual or intimate way, or in underwear. That includes a photo you upload of someone real, unless you've confirmed you have their consent; with consent they can be shown in lingerie like any adult, but never nude.
  • Undressing someone in a photo, hidden-camera or voyeur shots, and sexual violence.
  • Graphic gore.
  • Content that promotes an extremist or terrorist cause, or attacks people for who they are.
  • Help with causing serious harm, such as making weapons, explosives or drugs, or self-harm shown as something to do.
  • A real public figure presented as endorsing something, or saying words they never said, as if it were real.
  • Fakes meant to deceive: realistic receipts, invoices, bank statements, IDs, certificates, delivery paperwork, or photos and videos staged as proof.

What you'll see

  • A refused prompt. The message names the rule and ends "Nothing was charged." Your words are put back so you can change them.
  • A refused result. "This didn't pass our content check, so we didn't show it. Runs refused on content grounds aren't refunded." The model made it and was paid for it, so the run keeps its charge.
  • A run the model itself refused. Some models check what they're asked for and turn it down. The message gives their reason and ends "Runs refused on content grounds aren't refunded."
  • A refused upload. "This file can't be used on Vessero." The file isn't kept, and a run that uses a file refused before is refused too.

If we couldn't check a result just now, it isn't shown either, and that run's credits do come back: an outage on our side is never yours to pay for.

The message never quotes what you wrote.

If refusals keep coming

Several refusals in a short time pause new runs on your account for a while, and our team is told. You'll see "New runs are paused on this account for now." It isn't a suspension: the pause ends by itself, and our team can lift it sooner.

Something we removed

If our team removes something you made because it breaks these rules, it shows as Prohibited, with a reason that starts "We removed this". There's nothing to retry, and its credits aren't refunded, because it was delivered before it was removed.

If you think the check got it wrong

Open a ticket and say what you were making. Our team can see what was refused, and if the check was wrong, they can clear the refusal so it no longer counts toward a pause and refund the credits it kept.
