Bring files in and share links with an AI app

For files on your device, an app opens an upload window in the chat or gives you a one-time link. It can also fetch a file from a public link, or reuse what's in your Library. Results come back as links that last about a week; for one that keeps working, it makes a share link you can turn off.

An app works with your files the way the studios do. Whatever it brings in lands in the Uploads tab of your Library, goes through the same content check as an upload on the site, and is ready for any run. Bringing files in and making links are free.

Files on your device

Ask the app to use a photo, clip or recording you have, and it asks you for the file.

  • In the chat. Apps that can show a window, such as Claude.ai and ChatGPT, open an upload window. Drop your files on it or choose them, wait until each says Uploaded, then press Done, and the app has them. If the window asks you to, tell the app to carry on.
  • With a one-time link. Apps that show no window, such as Claude Code and Cursor, give you a link instead. Open it while signed in to the account the app is connected to, add your files, press Done, then tell the app you've added them.

A window or a link takes as many files as the app asks for, up to 30 (10 if it doesn't say), for 15 minutes:

KindTypesUp to
PicturesPNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF8 MB
ClipsMP4 or MOV200 MB
RecordingsMP3 or WAV, or a voice note from your phone: M4A, AAC, OGG or Opus15 MB

The window shows what the app asked for, and takes only the kinds it asked for. A voice note, such as an iPhone recording or a WhatsApp voice message, is turned into an MP3 as it comes in, so every tool can use it.

If the link's page says This link has closed, its 15 minutes are up or you pressed Done: ask the app for a new one. This link is for another account means you're signed in to a different Vessero account from the one the app is connected to.

An app that runs commands on your computer, such as Claude Code, can also send a file you point it to without the window.

Files on the web

Give the app a public link to the file itself, such as a picture's address or an .mp4 or .mp3, not the web page it appears on. It has to be an https link that opens for anyone, without signing in. The same types and sizes apply, and the app brings files in one at a time.

The app can also put a link straight into a run, as a reference picture, a start frame, a product's picture, a presenter, a video to look like or a recording. Vessero brings the file into your Uploads first, with the same checks, and the run uses it from there. The same link in the same place is brought in once an hour, so the price check and the run use the same copy.

For a product, give it the product's page instead. It imports the product's words and pictures into your Products, free, up to 30 a day. A product that isn't on a page it can read, it can add by hand: its name, what it is, its price, benefits, selling points and up to 8 pictures. It can change any of these later too. See Your brand kit and products.

What you already have

An app can use anything you've made, any file you've uploaded, and the pictures of your cast and your products, without you uploading them again: ask for "my last picture" or "the photo of my tote". It copies the file into your Uploads in the form the run needs.

What comes back

Finished files come back as links, which work for about a week. Everything stays in your Library: if a link has run out, open the file there, or ask the app for a fresh link. See Find your work: the Library, folders and downloads.

For a website, a store page or anywhere a link has to last, ask the app for a share link to a file. It's a public address on vessero.com/s/ that opens the file for anyone who has it, until it's turned off. Asking again for the same file gives the same link. Make one only for a file you mean to publish.

Pasted into a chat or a post, such as WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack, X or LinkedIn, a share link to a picture previews as that picture. A link to a video or another file shows its kind and Vessero's name.

  • To see your links, ask the app to list your shared links.
  • To stop one, ask the app to turn it off. It stops opening the file straight away, though a browser that opened it in the last few minutes may still show it for a little while. A link that's been turned off can't be turned on again: sharing the file again makes a new link.

An app that can only see your account can list your links, but not make or turn them off.

There's no page in Vessero for share links yet, so they're listed and turned off through a connected app. Disconnecting an app doesn't turn off the links it made. If you have no app connected and want a link off, connect one again, or open a ticket.

A share link also stops working if the file is taken down or your account is suspended, and for good once your account is erased.
