Pictures are made on Images. The pictures you make there are under My images, and the Templates tab has prompts to start from: a template fills in the words and the shape, and nothing runs until you press Generate. Everything else is set in the bar at the foot of the page.

Across the top of the bar are three tabs. Text to Image makes a picture from your words, with any pictures you add beside them. Edit a picture changes a picture of yours, and Upscale makes one bigger. Each tab keeps what you put in it while another is open, and only the open tab's words and pictures go when you press Generate.

At the right of the tabs, Clear all takes the words and every picture out of all three tabs; your model and settings stay. The arrow beside it folds the bar down to a Make an image button, which opens it again just as it was.

Make a picture

  1. Pick a model. Open the model box at the start of the row under the words. On Text to Image it lists the models that make a picture from words. Each row says what the model works from, such as "16 image refs" or "Words only", and what a picture costs on it. Type in the menu to search it, or hover over a model to read what it's for. See Which image model should I use?
  2. Describe the picture. The subject, the setting, the light, the style, the colours, the composition. If your prompt is short or unclear, press Improve the words under it: it writes your idea out in full, with the composition, light and lens, and keeps every detail you gave. Beside it is the most it can cost, such as "up to 2 credits", and you pay only what it uses. Changed your mind? Press Undo beside it to put your own words back.
  3. Add pictures, if you want the model to work from them. A model that takes pictures shows them beside the words, with Add after them, and the line under the words says how many it takes. See Use reference pictures and your own uploads.
  4. Set the shape and resolution. The Output box beside the model says them, such as "16:9 | 2K". Open it to pick a shape, from Story (9:16) and Portrait (3:4) to Square (1:1) and Landscape (16:9), and a resolution, such as 1K, 2K or 4K, each with its price. It offers only what the model makes, and says where two sizes cost the same.
  5. Check the price on Generate, such as "3 credits". Hover over it, or move to it with the Tab key, to see how it's worked out.
  6. Press Generate, or ⌘ Return (Ctrl Enter on Windows) in the prompt.

On Higgsfield Soul, a Style box sits beside the model, and its seed and Polish my words are under Advanced at the end of the row. A dot on Advanced means one of them is set.

A slot for the picture appears at the top of My images straight away, in the shape you asked for, and says where the run has got to. The prompt clears so you can write the next one; your model, settings and pictures stay.

Each press makes one picture. You don't have to wait for one to finish before pressing again: every press is a picture of its own, charged on its own.

Change a picture you have

  1. Open the Edit a picture tab, or point at a picture in My images and press Edit this picture.
  2. Add the picture to change under Picture to edit. It's named @Image1 in the words. Where the model takes more pictures, add them under More pictures: they're @Image2 and on.
  3. Pick a model. The menu lists the models made to edit first, such as Nano Banana Edit and Qwen Image Edit, then the models that also edit a picture as they make one, such as Nano Banana 2.1 and GPT Image 2.
  4. Say the change in the words, such as "make it night, rain on the windows. Keep her face and the jacket as they are."
  5. Check the price on Generate and press it. The new picture lands at the top of My images, and the one you started from is unchanged.

Make a picture bigger

  1. Open the Upscale tab, or point at a picture in My images and press Upscale.
  2. Add the picture, from your computer or from your work. Upscale takes no words.
  3. Pick ×2 or ×4 in the Upscale box. It shows the size it makes in pixels, such as "4096 × 2304", up to 8,192 pixels on the long side. ×2 is one pass and ×4 is two, each at the price the box shows.
  4. Press Generate. The bigger picture lands at the top of My images.

Upscale is the same upscale as Edit & Enhance's, and shows where Edit & Enhance is on for your account. Edit & Enhance also removes backgrounds, relights and erases: see Upscale, cut out, relight and edit a picture.

What it costs

Pictures are priced by model and resolution. They start from 1 credit, and a Nano Banana picture is 2 credits. On Seedream 5.0 Pro, each picture you give it past the first adds a little to the price; the figure on Generate includes it.

You're never charged more than the price you pressed at. If the price has gone up since the page loaded, the bar shows the new one and asks you to press Generate again. If your balance is short, Generate opens a window where you can add credits or choose a plan, and what you typed is kept for when you come back.

When it's done

Point at a finished picture to see its actions; on a phone, open the picture to find them.

  • Download saves the file to your device, without opening a new tab.
  • Copy link copies the picture's link.
  • Use this prompt puts its words back in the bar, and its shape where the model you have picked makes it. An upscaled picture has no words, so it doesn't offer this.
  • Use as reference puts the picture beside the words on Text to Image, to make a new one from it. If the model you have picked reads words only, the bar moves to one that works from pictures.
  • Edit this picture opens Edit a picture with it as the picture to change.
  • Upscale opens the Upscale tab with it in, ready for ×2 or ×4.
  • Delete removes it, once you confirm.

Open a picture to see it full size, with its shape, its size in pixels, the model and resolution it was made at, what it was charged and when. Under the prompt, References shows the pictures it was made from, named as your prompt names them (@Image1, @Image2). Press one to see it big; Back to the picture, or Esc, brings yours back. The arrow keys step through the others.

My images shows the pictures made on this page. Everything you make, here or on a board, is also in your Library, where a picture's Edit & Enhance button opens it for upscaling, cutting out or editing: see Upscale, cut out, relight and edit a picture.

If a picture fails

A failed picture keeps its slot, says why, and shows the credits that came back. Press Try again to make it again as it was asked for, at the price on the button, or Dismiss to clear it. Refunds are automatic: see My video failed. Did I lose my credits?
