Credits are what runs are paid with. Browsing, opening templates and building a board are free; making something (a picture, a clip, a track, a voiceover, an edit, an assistant's reply) costs credits.
Every run's price is on its button before you press it, and you're never charged more than that. If prices have gone up since the page loaded, you're shown the new price and asked to press again before anything is taken.
Where credits come from
Your plan. Each plan gives credits every month: 728 on Starter, 1,220 on Plus, 2,400 on Pro and 4,180 on Ultra. Yearly plans are paid once a year and still get their credits every month.
Unused plan credits carry over for one month, up to one month's worth. When the next month's credits arrive, anything above that expires, so the most you can start a month with is two months' worth. If your plan ends, its credits end with it, including any carried over.
Starter credits. A new account is given 10 starter credits once its email address is confirmed: straight away if you sign up with Google, or when you open the activation link we email you. They last 2 days, and whatever is left after that expires.
Credits you buy. Add credits in any amount from 440 to 50,000, in steps of 100, with or without a plan. Without a plan you can buy them 3 times in any 30 days; on a plan, as often as you like. The more you add at once, the less each credit costs: 1,000 credits cost $25, 5,000 cost $110 and 20,000 cost $420. Without a plan, credits you buy last 60 days from the day they arrive, and we remind you two weeks and three days before they end. While you have a plan they don't expire, and if it ends they have 60 days from then. Credits bought before 20 October 2026 last until 20 April 2027, and don't expire while you have a plan.
To add some, press Top up at the top of any page, or go to Plan and billing or Pricing. You pay in Stripe's checkout and come straight back.
Complimentary credits. Credits from our team, or from a sign-up link, are either yours for good or come with a date. Whatever is unused on that date expires.
The order they're spent in
Every run takes its credits in this order:
- Plan credits.
- Credits with an end date, the soonest to end first: starter credits, dated complimentary credits and credits you bought.
- Credits that never expire, such as a refund for a run your plan credits paid for, or credits our team gave you for good.
That way, credits that would expire are used before the ones that never do.
When credits come back
- A run that fails gives back every credit it was charged, automatically, unless it was refused on content grounds, which keeps its charge. If plan credits paid for the run, they come back as credits that never expire. If credits with an end date paid for it, such as starter credits or credits you bought, they go back to those and keep their end date. See My video failed. Did I lose my credits?
- A reply from a text model, such as an Assistant card's on a board, is held at the most it can cost, then settled to what it used, and the difference comes back on your statement as a Returned line.
Where to see your balance
- At the top of every page: your balance, with Top up beside it. On a phone it's in the top bar.
- Plan and billing: your plan, your balance split into plan and purchased credits, any credits with an end date and when they end, and Buy credits.
- Usage: where your credits went, by day and by tool, and when your plan credits next refresh. Below that is your statement: every credit in and out, newest first, with the balance after each line. You can download it as a CSV.
On the statement, a month's plan credits read like "Pro plan · October", credits above the carry-over show as Plan credits expired, and a failed run's credits come back as a Refund line.
