A skill is a set of instructions the Creative Director follows: your voice, your formats, a way of working you'd otherwise explain every time. Skills live in Settings, under Creative Director, and the Creative Director's menu lists them too, each with its switch.
The starter skills
Eight skills come with every account and are on to start with: Content calendar planning, Dance direction, Directing workflow, Hook writing, Make my page, Niche research, Video packaging and Video script writing. Open one to read what the Creative Director follows, download it, or switch it off. Starter skills can't be edited or deleted.
- Directing workflow is how the Creative Director directs a scene, a shot list or a UGC ad before anything is made: it gives each of your pictures and clips one job, says who stands where and looks where, times each shot from start to end, keeps the camera, sound and dialogue apart, and checks a clip that comes back against the plan. It follows it in every conversation while it's on, wherever you open it, UGC Ads included.
- Dance direction turns a dance clip or a dance idea into steps a video model can follow, timed to the second, with a number of moves that fits the length. It's used when you ask for dancing.
- Make my page is how the Creative Director makes your link-in-bio page with you: it reads your page, asks a few questions, then proposes the whole page with its pictures for you to see before anything changes. It's read from the first message when you open the Creative Director on Your page, and when you ask for a page anywhere else. See Make your page.
Add your own
- Go to Skills and press Add skill.
- Upload a Markdown (.md) file, drop one on the dialog, or paste the text.
- Give it a name and say when it should be used. At the top of the file,
name:is its name anddescription:says when to use it; the instructions follow. Without them, the name comes from the first heading, and the description from the first paragraph. - Check the preview of its name and when it's used, then press Scan and add.
A skill can be up to 48,000 characters and 1,000 lines. You can keep up to 50 of your own, and up to 20 skills can be on at once, starters included.
The security scan
Every skill is scanned before the Creative Director can use it, and again whenever you edit it.
- Blocked: nothing is saved, and the dialog says what to fix, such as hidden content, a secret or a key, instructions that send your conversation somewhere else, or instructions that try to override the assistant's own rules.
- Needs review: the skill is saved but left off, for example when it runs commands, links out, or claims authority. Press Review to read why, then edit it or press I understand, turn it on. Editing it again asks for a new review.
- Scanned: it's on and ready. If 20 skills are on already, it's saved switched off; turn another off to use it.
How the Creative Director uses them
The Creative Director knows every skill you have on, by its name and description. When what you ask needs one, it reads that skill's instructions and follows them in that conversation from then on. Directing workflow it reads at the start of every conversation while it's on. A skill shapes how it works for you; it never changes what it may do, and what it makes still waits for you to press Make it.
Assistant cards on a board don't use skills.
What they cost
Adding, scanning and switching skills is free. A skill's instructions are part of what the Creative Director reads, so a long one adds a little to the price of the messages that use it. See How credits work.
Change or delete a skill
Each of your skills has a switch to turn it on or off, and buttons to view it, Edit it, Download .md or delete it. Deleting asks first. Conversations that used it keep their history, but the Creative Director stops using it, so download it first if you want a copy.
