You can end an app's or a key's access in Connected apps whenever you like. Whatever it made stays in your account.
Disconnect an app
- Go to Connected apps in Settings.
- Press the app, then press Disconnect and the app's name.
- Press Disconnect to confirm.
On a computer, the Disconnect button on the app's row takes you straight to step 3.
The app stops at once. To use it again, connect it again from the app and press Allow.
Removing Vessero inside the app itself doesn't always end the connection here. To be sure, disconnect it in Connected apps as well.
The same app can be listed twice if you connected it twice, such as after it had to connect again. Each row says when it was last used: disconnect any you no longer use.
Revoke a key
- In Connected apps, press the key. The API keys tab shows keys only.
- Press Revoke key, then Revoke key again to confirm.
On a computer, the Revoke button on the key's row asks straight away.
Anything using the key stops at once, and a revoked key can't be brought back. To connect the app again, make a new key: see Connect an AI app.
Revoke a key straight away if someone else may have seen it, in a shared file or a screenshot, say. If you've lost a key, it can't be shown again: revoke it and make another. You can keep up to 20 keys, so revoke one you no longer use to make room.
What else ends a connection
- A new password. Setting a new password signs you out on your other devices, and disconnects every app you connected by signing in before then. API keys keep working until you revoke them. Logging out doesn't disconnect anything. See Change your email, password or sign-in.
- Two months without use. An app that hasn't used its connection for 60 days has to connect again.
- A copied sign-in. If the saved sign-in an app holds is used after the app has already replaced it, which can mean someone else has a copy, the connection ends to keep your account safe. Connect the app again.
- Your account closing. While your account is scheduled for deletion, or suspended, every app and key is turned away, and no app can connect. Once the account is restored, they work again. When an account is erased, its connections, keys and share links go with it. See Cancel your plan or delete your account.
An app isn't told why it was turned away: to it, a disconnected app, a revoked key and a mistyped key all look the same. What it shows you then is up to the app, often a prompt to sign in or connect again.
When an app stops working
- The app can't reach Vessero, or asks you to sign in again. It has been disconnected, or its key was revoked or pasted wrongly. Connect it again, or make a new key and copy the lines the page gives you, key and address included.
- "Too many calls from this app." Each app or key can make 120 calls a minute. Wait a minute, then carry on.
- The app says its daily cap is reached. Raise or clear the cap in Connected apps, or wait until midnight UTC. See Credits, prices and daily caps with AI apps.
- "Nothing was run or charged: the price is now…" The price went up between the quote and the go-ahead. Agree to the new one, or don't. A price that came down just runs at the lower figure.
- Not enough credits. Nothing ran. Add credits, then ask again.
- "This request has expired." Connecting has to finish within ten minutes. Go back to the app and connect again.
- "This request is for another account." It was started while someone else was signed in here. Go back to the app and connect again.
- "Too many tries." Wait a few minutes, then connect again from the app.
- "This account is scheduled for deletion." Restore your account before you connect an app.
- "This account can't connect apps." If you think that's a mistake, contact us.
- An upload link says the app "is no longer connected to your account". The app was disconnected after it made the link. Connect it again and ask for a new link.
If it still isn't working, open a ticket under A bug. Say which app you use and what it said, but never paste your key: we never need it.
